Doublethink

According to an article on Instapundit, which you can find here, communists are just as bad because of their superficial facade of using good intentions to infringe upon civil liberties.  Personally, I agree with this.  Even though communism does seem like just a form of European intellectualism and fascism is bad in every possible way, I do not see much of a difference between the two.  Stalin killed millions of people and Hitler killed millions of people.  Communists will always say that true communism just hasn’t been enacted correctly, but when it is all said and done how many tries do they want? Soviet Russia was a horrible place, Cuba is a horrible place, and even when early forms of communism were tried in America, they either fell apart (Brook Farm) or became capitalist ventures (Oneida community).  I don’t see communism on the far right and fascism on the far left as some people do.  I see them as very similar forms of autocratic rule with the same propaganda, the same food shortages, and the same restrictions upon the populace.  The only difference I can discern is that Fascists call their leader “Our Great Father” and Communists call their leader “Our Great Brother.”
